In addition, the MFD contracts with White County to provide ambulance service to all townships with the exception of Princeton, Prairie and Round Grove. Fire Protection is provided to the City of Monticello, Union Twp. and Jefferson Twp. in Carroll County.
Currently, 23 full-time and 6 part-time professional firefighters (and 8 volunteers) are employed in our department. The 23 full-time dedicated firefighters are also trained as paramedics ... dual career professionals!
In 2009, we responded to 3,312 calls for service, making it a record setting year.
We continue to look for better ways to serve the community - we are everyday!
