The primary mission of the Monticello Street Department is to provide a safe and well-maintained city street network. As a department, we strive to give our citizens the most cost effective and competent services. We take pride in being responsive in a timely fashion to citizens' concerns and requests. Major functions of the street department include: Street Resurfacing, Snow Removal, Leaf Pick-up, Brush Removal, Street Sweeping, Right-of-Way Mowing and General Street Maintenance. Annually, city street employees assist the Greater Monticello Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau in downtown beautification projects. Workers also are responsible putting-up, removing and storing the holiday Christmas decorations.
Leaf pick-up will begin Monday, October 22nd and end on Friday, December 7th.
