Street Department Sfatt PhotoThe primary mission of the Monticello Street Department is to provide a safe and well-maintained city street network. As a department, we strive to give our citizens the most cost effective and competent services. We take pride in being responsive in a timely fashion to citizens' concerns and requests. Major functions of the street department include: Street Resurfacing, Snow Removal, Leaf Pick-up, Brush Removal, Street Sweeping, Right-of-Way Mowing and General Street Maintenance. Annually, city street employees assist the Greater Monticello Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau in downtown beautification projects. Workers also are responsible putting-up, removing and storing the holiday Christmas decorations.

ROUNDABOUT Way.....

Monticello's first roundabout - at Gordon Road and South Sixth Street - has been in use since the beginning of November.  When drivers use proper methods, caution and courtesy, roundabouts typically make traffic less congested and are often safer than standard intersections.
