The Monticello City Parks Department announces its April Programs.  Check schedule for registration requirements, as some classes require registration.  You may register online here or call Cindy Isom at 574-583-4525 or the Parks Department at 574-583-3983 or leave a message.  Most classes are free of charge, unless noted in the description.  If you have general questions, please call Cindy Isom at 574-583-4525.

Spring Clean-Up Announced

The Monticello Streets Department has announced the annual Spring Clean-Up Days. Spring Clean-Up 2024 will be on Saturday, April 20th for the East Side of Main St. and on Saturday, April 27th for the West Side of Main St.

Also released is the Limb and Brush Pickup Schedule for 2024.  The annual flyer will be mailed to you.  You may also review and download the document below:

  2024 ADA Disability Awareness Month Support/Sponsorship Opportunities

The City of Monticello and the Mayor’s Advisory Council for the ADA Is proud to once again support Disability Awareness Month and plans are well underway.  

As always the City of Monticello is committed to being an accessible, responsive, community that welcomes and includes everyone. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has become a useful tool in assuring that access changes are made and policies are developed to give people with all kinds of disabilities an equal opportunity to participate and benefit from community programs and activities.

Listed below are our initial Schedule of Events.  All times are EST (Indianapolis/GMT -5)
  • Friday, March 1:  Art and Banner displays go up on Main Street
  • Saturday, March 2: 4-8pm Freedom Event at Burnettsville Beehive
  • March 1-30th:  Art will be on display at the Monticello Library during open hours.
  • Monday, March 4: Lego League - Building Accessible Structures at MUTPL
  • Tuesday, March 5: Story Hour - Attorney Loy for Toddlers at MUTPL
  • Wednesday, March 13:  Voice of Accessibility Panel at Monticello-Union Township Public Library
  • Thursday, March 14:  5:00pm Wheel Chair Basketball & Social Services Fair at Twin Lakes High School Auxiliary Gym - Door 9 on west side of building from side parking lot
    • 5:00-7:00pm - Social Services and Transition Fair
    • 6:00pm - Lafayette Spinners Wheelchair Basketball Demonstration
    • 6:20pm - City Department Tournament and Annual Guns Vs. Hoses
    • 6:40pm - Monticello Combined Game — Red vs. White
    • 7:00pm - Aktion Club members recognized. Mayor Sims to give oath of office to new officers.
    • 7:10pm - Half-time Activities.  Please visit our concession stand and social services booths
    • 7:20pm - City Department Tournament Championship
  • Tuesday,March 19: Story Hour - Mayor Sims for Toddlers at MUTPL
  • Wednbesday,March 20: Lego League - Building Accessible Structures at MUTPL
  • Thursday, March 21:  5:30pm Arts & Awards Reception at Twin Lakes High School Auxiliary Gym
  • Thursday, March 28: White Oak Health Campus - Dementia Experience. Walk a Mile In My Shoes Day at Monticello-Union Township Public Library.
