Sign-up for Public Safety Messages
The City of Monticello's Citizen Alert system allows you to sign up to receive time-sensitive emergency notifications directly to your home phone, cell phones via voice and text alerts, and e-mails.

When you create an account, you'll be able to choose what phones, devices and e-mails should receive alerts. Once you enter your preferences for notifications you will receive timely emergency notifications when alerts are issued.

How do I get sewer service?

For Existing Residential Service
  1. All customers must apply in person for sewage service, except for current customers with a good credit rating.
  2. All new customers must pay the $150.00 deposit upon request of service.
  3. All new customers must present a copy for their driver's license or a photo ID.
  4. If a current customer reapplies for new service, all account balances in their name must be paid in full prior to activation of new service.
NOTE: In addition to above requirements, new residential construction is charged sewer tap fees. Normal cost is $1,500.00.
