White County Memorial Hospital (WCMH) is located in Monticello, Indiana. Our quiet town comes alive in the summer with tourists that are drawn to local attractions and the two lakes, Lake Shafer and Lake Freeman. WCMH was built in 1956 to serve the local area and since then has grown to serve several surrounding areas. The first hospital was built at 1101 O'Connor Blvd. That location went through many renovations and additions until it was time to build a brand new facility.
In October of 2008, the hospital moved into its' brand new facility at 720 South 6th St. A larger, state of the art Hospital with better access and the same exceptional services. Our services make you feel like you are in a large city, but our home town care can only come from a small town. We are a Critical Access Hospital. WCMH offers a comprehensive range of services that includes general medical/surgical services, a 24-hour emergency department, sophisticated diagnostic imaging services, laboratory, chemotherapy, home health and therapy services, as well as Labor and Delivery Suites that provide a home-like setting yet contain all of the equipment needed to assist with labor, delivery and recovery. All patient rooms are private and boast warm colors and natural light to enhance comfort and healing.
