Water Plant Operator Opening - App. due Sept. 13th

EXTENDED APPLICATION DEADLINE - The city of Monticello is seeking qualified applicants for water operator.  The Water Plant Operator will help the City of Monticello, IN continue to provide high quality water services to the citizens of Monticello IN. In addition to providing high quality water to our citizens, the Water Plant Operator will perform a variety of technical tasks to effectively operate, maintain and control various components of the City's Water Treatment Plants. Facilities include a conventional pressure filtration plant, distribution system control valves, storage tanks, and standpipes. Lane Restriction Information - Begins June 10th

The Monticello Street Department announces that Milestone Contractors will begin rebuilding the 300 block of N. Main Street on Monday June 10, 2024. The project is expected to take about 8 weeks. New curbs and sidewalks will be installed and the street will be resurfaced. New street light poles will be installed as well as tree replacement. There will be lane restrictions and possible short term closures with this project. Please plan your travel accordingly. This project is part of the community crossings grant program to help improve our streets and sidewalks.

Lane Closure Information - Begins June 4th

The City of Monticello Street Department is announcing the plan to hook up drains at the Community Corrections Building next week. They will be working at the Illinois and Marion Street intersection. Beginning Tuesday June 4, one lane of Illinois Street and one lane of Marion Street will be closed. They expect this project to take 2 - 3 days .

Bowling & Cornhole "Team Up with ADA" - June 15th

Team Up with ADA for a one of a kind Bowling and Cornhole Event.  This event will be held on June 15, 2024.  The proceeds from the 2024 Team Up with ADA will be used to make our City Parks more accessible.

Our event will be held at the Best Bowling Center on June 15, 2024.  Bring a team or make a team here!

  • 1st Set:  11:00am-1:00pm
  • 2nd Set:  1:30pm-3:30pm
  • Cornhole is at 11:00am only

There will be lunch and a raffle/50-50 Drawing.  Family Fun for all Ages and Abilities.

Mosquito Spraying Begins

 The City of Monticello Street Dept. will begin spraying for mosquitos on Wednesday, May 8th weather permitting. if weather will not allow us to spray that evening, then spraying will be moved to the next evening. The Street Dept. will spray the city limits twice a week for the next several weeks on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (depending on weather conditions). Spraying will be done during the evening hours after 7pm. The spray trucks will spray the alleys where available and the streets where there is no alley. If you do not want the area by your home sprayed please call the Monticello Street Dept. at (574) 583- 7033.
